Donkey Kong Review

The one that started it all. Donkey Kong. Yes, Donkey Kong is such an old game; but is it a bad game? Maybe it is, maybe it's not.

Presentation:
Well...You start out with a nice 8-bit menu. Not very exciting. The background is very boring and the story is very simple; some girl named Pauline gets kidnapped by a BIG ape and some man needs to save her. The score is 65!

Sound:
Probably one of the best things about the game. Those classic sound effects and music are sure to keep you going. I love the title screen music and the 25m theme is so cool! The score is...75!

Graphics:
It's 8-bit! It is just 8-bit! Nothing exciting. It's really just a bunch of blocks on top of each other, but still has a nice feel to it. The score is...50!

Gameplay:
The way you play is really cool. Jumping over barrels and rescuing some lady. I love it. Very classic and good style. I wish it was a bit more complex though. The score is...80!

Preservation:
You'll be done with it in no time! There are 4 levels (or 3) and they are all pretty easy (except 75m). Not very good; but is still very fun and nice! The score is...45!

Overall:
Donkey Kong is a mediocre game for hardcore gamers. But it is good for casual gamers. Overall this game is recommended for gamers who like all that 8-bit stuff. But if you're a modern gamer; better not buy. The score is...63!
